Arthritis-Natural Treatment and How It Can Help

With painful conditions brought on by arthritis there is a wide range of alternative treatments.  With arthritis, natural treatment has gained more acceptance recently by the general public.  Today these treatments a very often used in conjunction with traditional therapies.  However, because the results may vary and due to some reluctance on the part of the medical community to recognize their effectiveness, individuals are finding themselves doing the research and seeking to verify the validity of the treatment claims.

There are strict regulations in place with regard to the claims that an arthritis natural treatment can make.  It is imperative that promises are backed up with scientific proof and if not, proceed with caution.  Due to the fact that arthritis can go into remission on its own for periods of time, it can be uncertain as to the cause. It is important to respect the medications and therapeutic programs that have been prescribed by your doctor.

Another valid concern is the need to co-ordinate with your doctor anything that could create a negative reaction with traditional medications that you maybe taking. You must not take for granted that just because you are taking something that is an “arthritis natural treatment” that it couldn’t cause a bad reaction.

Some therapies that are being used are: homeopathy and massage therapy, acupuncture, herbal and naturopathic medicine.  Also- Ayurveda is a Hindu/Indian health based system and philosophy.  These therapies take a holistic approach, treating the whole person and correcting imbalances in their bodies. This is to enable the body the ability to heal itself.

Although conventional medicine has always taken a very skeptical view of an arthritis natural treatment, it is slowly changing.  Today, some doctors and hospitals are incorporating a blend of alternative and conventional medicine.  So, just a few years ago your doctor may have just dismissed these natural treatments and now, he may have a more open view of them. It is still very important however, to coordinate your efforts and his.

A hotly disputed question is whether or not arthritis is affected by food and diet. Everyone is unique, but the possibility does exist, which can be backed up by personal testimonials that there is a connection. Science seems to prove that some people do have allergic reactions to some foods and that some of these foods could be felt in their joints.

Fasting for short periods of time can help, because it can help suppress the immune system reducing inflammatory activity for certain types of arthritis.  But when eating is resumed it can cause it to flare up again.  Some people feel that a vegetarian diet following a fast seems to help those with Rheumatoid Arthritis. If you follow this however, it should be supervised by a doctor or nutritionist that can make sure you have a balanced diet.  This also does replace taking medications.

Along with good old fashioned exercise and weight control, some other non-standard therapies for an arthritis natural treatment are: hypnosis and visualization, various gels and creams, biofeedback, laughter, application of heat and cold, and a variety of vitamins and minerals that can work to improve the bodies overall condition.

There is no end to promises made and the number of arthritis natural treatments.  Take your time to navigate them and to be cautious.  Use a common sense approach and always work in conjunction with health care professionals when looking for an arthritis natural treatment.
